We've joined forces with escorted tour experts GB Privilege to offer this exclusive and unforgettable trip.
There's no doubt about it, wine is Burgundy's most famous ambassador. Nature has furnished Burgundy's winegrowers with grape varieties from which they can create a seemingly infinite range of fabulous wines. And nothing goes better with Burgundian cuisine, rooted in tradition yet full of subtle flavours. Regional specialities include trout, carp, pike–perch, Bresse poultry, Charolais beef and Burgundy snails. One highlight of this tour combines Burgundy's fine wines and foods, offering a gourmet five-course dinner with top class wines in a world-renowned wine cellar. It also includes a visit to a top-class champagne house on the way back, plus a free tasting of wines in a Calais drinks outlet.
Also, you'll get to meet our team and appear in Practical Motorhome: we'll send one of our writers to report on the tour.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
MAY 29 Leaving Dover in the
early afternoon, it's a short drive
to our first campsite near St. Omer.
In the evening there will be a dinner
in the campsite's own restaurant,
accompanied by wine.
MAY 30 A day of relaxation. There's
the opportunity to visit the incredible
WWII Blockhaus, a launch pad for
both the V1 and V2 rockets.
MAY 31 We leave this morning and
head south, breaking up our journey at
a pleasant site in the village of Epernay.
JUNE 1 We journey south to Beaune
where our campsite is within easy
walking distanced the historic centre.
The campsite has its own good quality
restaurant and there are others within
easy walking distance of the site.
JUNE 2 A day to relax or explore the
town of Beaune. In the evening we
stroll to the world-renowned Patriarche
wine cellars where we will enjoy a
quality wine tasting. This is followed
by a superb five-course banquet in the
cellars, accompanied by great wines.
JUNE 3 A day of relaxation. You could
easily explore the lovely town of
Beaune, especially its world-famous
hospital with the fabulous tiled roof.
JUNE 4 We have arranged for a coach
to take everybody to the lovely old
town of Dijon. This will give you the
opportunity to explore at your own
pace. As well as being a wine town,
Dijon is world famous for its mustard.
JUNE 5 We head back north to our
campsite in Epernay.
JUNE 6 Why not take the bus into
town and visit some of the world-
famous champagne houses that are
based here? The best visiting
experience - and tasting - is at
Champagne Mercier.
JUNE 7 It's back to Calais and the
Franglais drinks outlet on the outskirts
of the town, where we will park up for
the night. Franglais closes to the
public at 19.00, and at 19.30 we will
stroll into the wine and drinks store for
a finger buffet with a free wine tasting.
Beer will also be available to drink at
French prices. During the evening you
can stroll around the shop and buy
whatever you want from the huge
selection at low, French prices. Your
purchases can be stored overnight
for collection in the morning. No
facilities are available, though, so you
will need to use your motorhome's
toilet and shower.
JUNE 8 After breakfast you can collect
your wine before heading for
a hypermarket to stock up on other
French goodies. We will then board
our ferry to return to Dover. |
